Destroyed Paradise, 1919's Photographs of Jerusalem & Palestine
Humanity's history has been conceived and craved over and over through war and peace, unity and battle. We have changed so many times and in so many different ways that is hard to place ourselves into the past and witness the several realities that once took place.
These photographs are good to observe with the nostalgic eye of experience. We know what happened, we know what is happening, so there is no need to disturb the harmony of this garden by placing information and opinions that can be found anywhere else. This entry is to show you a place and time that no longer exist. There is beauty in faded splendor, there is beauty in hope.
These hand-painted photographs were taken in the year 1919 in the present day areas of Israel and Palestine. They represent important moments and locations of it's people's culture and history; a monk reading calmly in the Garden of Gethsemane, the route of Via Dolorisa, (the Way of Suffering), a street believed to have been walked by Jesus while carrying his cross on the way to his crucifixion, and diverse portraits and prints of a lifestyle that few remember yet many long for dearly.
