Three Brilliant Short Films

''A film is never really good unless the camera is an eye in the head of a poet.''

~ Orson Welles

The Gunfighter (2014)

I don't remember when was the last time I laughed so hard to a screen. Narrated by Nick Offerman, this nine minute film tells the traditional western story; a lonely gunslinger walks into a saloon. Although, this time, everybody in the saloon can hear the voice of the narrator.

 Room 8 (2013)

An Englishman is dragged into a Russian prison cell. His cellmate warns him not to open the red box which temptingly lays on the bed. However, the curiosity of our nameless hero takes over him. Now he must pay the consequences. (6 minutes)

The Life of Death (2012)

Perhaps my favorite in the list, The Life of Death is a profoundly moving, hand-drawn animation, gently leading us through the day in which Death fell in love with Life. (5 minutes)

''Storytelling is powerful; film particularly. We can know a lot of things intellectually, but humans really live on storytelling. Primarily with ourselves; we're all stories of our own narrative.''

~ Richard Linklater
